Finally Embraced Flickr

http://www.flickr.com/photos/54772553@N06/show/

Atlast i plucked up the courage or patience to work out how to post photos online to discover I had made a  mountain out of a mole-hill! It was easy and quite pleasant to browse through photos I hadn't looked at in a long time.
Have a look and let me know what you think of my random selection of snaps.

  1. Hey Jo. I tried to use the link but it said there were no photos there. Are you sure you've made the photos public? If the privacy setting is wrong then only you will be able to see them.

  4. Hi Jo
I tried Flicker too and it said it couldn't find it. It may be just a small problem. The important part of the activity is not whether you get them up (although it maybe frustrating if you don't) its more about the experience. Trying out technology that's new to you. What do you think of flicker anyway? A photographer friend of mine loved it and went on-and-on about because he could post all his pictures and share projects really easily. I have my reservations because as a dancer I feel I want to really control my image and images of my work. I have pictures on my web site that roll into each other like a film because I don't want people to pull my pictures.
On the other hand when you google me there are so many sources about me, the 'picture' of me could be really confusing. Most of them are reviews and comments about me from people I did not know wrote about me. So maybe it is better to add a number of sources (like flicker) that I control. What do you think?
What about the getting responses from people, the feedback on your work that if you were doing it as a portfolio at home you would be getting feedback as you do things?
This is thinking about WEB 2.0. Its there should how should we interact with it? I have another friend (actor, director) who just doesn't interact, she doesn't even have a cell phone, and she is fine!!!
The point is don't worry if it's a 'mountain' or a 'mole hill' we just want you to have an experience with 'bumps!' (mountains or mole Hills) so that you can have somethings to focus your thinking. And that is how the next section of the module links in because it is about the different ways you can reflect on experiences. And why some people think reflection is really important.
